Frank di sario

Frank Di Sario was born in Adelaide, South Australia. After playing both piano and trumpet in secondary school, he decided to commence playing bass. He attended the University of Adelaide from 1988 to 1992, where he studied jazz and composition. After completing a Bachelor of Music Degree in 1992, Frank started playing all kinds of gigs around Adelaide. From cabaret, rock to free jazz.

In March of 1995, Frank moved to Melbourne, with a firm desire to learn more about jazz and to play with the nation's best musicians.

Several months after moving to Melbourne, Frank backed his first international star, legendary American singer Mark Murphy. In 1997 Frank also played with Barbara Morrison, with whom he has played on each of her subsequent returns to Australia. This relationship culminated in Barbara's 2000 CD release of her 1999 Melbourne International Jazz performance, entitled Barbara Morrison Down Under.

Frank has also had the good fortune of playing with other international stars such as Rolf Harris, singer Dee Daniels, New York guitarist Howard Alden, saxophonist Dave O'Higgins and Australian jazz legend, Don Burrows.
He also played at the 2002 Wangaratta Jazz Festival with swinging tenor legend Danny Moss.

In 1999, Frank produced his first CD entitled Frank Di Sario's Trust, featuring Barry Duggan and Tim Stevens. Trust was released in August of 2000, on the Newmarket label.

2001 saw the beginning of his collaboration with Australian cabaret sensation Combo Fiasco with which he has played in many of its sell out seasons at Chapel off Chapel. He has toured with them to South Australia as well as playing on their new CD Illegal harmonies.

2003 saw Frank produce his second CD with his ensemble Hardi and Co.
This CD, titled Fourthcoming, is also available on the Newmarket label.

In June 2004, Frank released his CD Boundaries, with long time friend and collaborator Stephen Magnusson.
